vCenter Server Appliance 是预配置的 Linux 虚拟机，针对在 Linux 上运行 VMware vCenter Server® 及关联服务进行了优化。

在设备部署期间，选择以下部署类型：具有嵌入式 Platform Services Controller 的 vCenter Server、Platform Services Controller 或具有外部 Platform Services Controller 的 vCenter Server。部署 Platform Services Controller 设备时，可创建 VMware vCenter®Single Sign-On™ 域或加入现有域。有关 vCenter Server 和 Platform Services Controller 的部署类型以及具有外部 Platform Services Controller 实例的部署拓扑的信息，请参见vSphere 安装和设置。

VMware ESXi™ 5.5 及更高版本支持 vCenter Server Appliance。设备软件包包含以下软件：

  • Project Photon OS® 1.0
  • PostgreSQL 数据库
  • vCenter Server 6.5 和 vCenter Server 6.5 组件
  • Platform Services Controller，其中包含运行 vCenter Server 所需的全部服务（如 vCenter Single Sign-On、License Service 和 VMware Certificate Authority）

不支持自定义 vCenter Server Appliance，除非是添加内存、CPU 和磁盘空间。

vCenter Server Appliance 具有以下默认用户名：

  • root 用户，使用部署虚拟设备期间设置的密码。使用 root 用户登录 vCenter Server Appliance 管理界面和设备 Linux 操作系统。
    重要事项： 默认情况下， vCenter Server Appliance 的 root 帐户的密码会在 365 天后过期。有关如何更改 root 密码和配置密码过期设置的信息，请参见 更改 root 用户的密码和密码过期设置。
  • administrator@your_domain_name（vCenter Single Sign-On 用户），使用部署设备期间设置的密码和域名。

    在 vSphere 5.5 中，此用户为 administrator@vsphere.local。在 vSphere 6.0 中，安装 vCenter Server 或使用新的 Platform Services Controller 部署 vCenter Server Appliance 时，可以更改 vSphere 域。请勿使用与 Microsoft Active Directory 域名或 OpenLDAP 域名相同的域名。

    最初，只有用户 administrator@your_domain_name 具有登录到 vCenter Server Appliance 中 vCenter Server 系统的特权。默认情况下，administrator@your_domain_name 用户是 SystemConfiguration.Administrators 组的成员。该用户可以添加标识源，在该标识源中可将更多用户和组定义为 vCenter Single Sign-On，或为用户和组提供权限。有关详细信息，请参见《 vSphere 安全性》。

可以通过四种方式访问 vCenter Server Appliance 并编辑 vCenter Server Appliance 设置：

  • 使用 vCenter Server Appliance 管理界面。

    可以编辑 vCenter Server Appliance 的系统设置，如访问权限、网络、时间同步和 root 密码设置。这是编辑设备的首选方法。

  • 使用 VMware vSphere® Web Client。

    可以导航到 vCenter Server Appliance 的系统配置设置，并将设备加入到 Active Directory 域。可以管理在 vCenter Server Appliance 中运行的服务并修改访问、网络和防火墙设置等各种设置。

  • 使用设备 shell。

    可以使用 TTY1 登录控制台，也可以使用 SSH 并在 vCenter Server Appliance 中运行配置、监控以及故障排除命令。

  • 使用直接控制台用户界面。

    可以使用 TTY2 登录 vCenter Server Appliance 直接控制台用户界面更改 root 用户的密码、配置网络设置或启用对 Bash shell 或 SSH 的访问。

从 vSphere 6.5 开始，vCenter Server Appliance 支持高可用性。有关在 vCenter High Availability 群集中配置 vCenter Server Appliance 的信息，请参见vSphere 可用性。
