VMware releases certified Data Management for VMware Tanzu database templates and software updates to Tanzu Network. You must configure the Tanzu Network Refresh Token and the Provider Repo for DMS to automatically access this software.

The Refresh Token is a Tanzu Network UAA API TOKEN that you generate from a Tanzu Network account.

You can also choose to remove a Tanzu Net Token that you have previously set. This action stops Data Management for VMware Tanzu from pulling new templates and software updates.

Note: If you have deployed Data Management for VMware Tanzu in an air-gapped environment (an environment with no internet connectivity), refer to Manually Populating Templates and Updates for the information necessary to manually populate these objects in DMS.

Adding or Updating the Tanzu Net Token

Prerequisites

Before you configure the Tanzu Network Token for your Data Management for VMware Tanzu installation, you must:

  • Create a new account, or access an existing account on Tanzu Network.
  • Open the Edit Profile screen and REQUEST NEW REFRESH TOKEN.
  • Save a copy of the returned Tanzu Network UAA API TOKEN.
  • Navigate to the Data Management for VMware Tanzu product page on Tanzu Network, and view and accept the license.

Procedure

Perform the following procedure to configure your Tanzu Network Refresh Token:

  1. Select Settings from the left navigation pane.

This action displays the Settings view, which includes tabs for Information, Storage Settings, SMTP Settings, and LDAP Settings.

  2. Select the Storage Settings tab.

  3. Locate the Tanzu Net Token pane, Refresh Token row.

  4. Click on the three vertical dots in the Actions column, and select Add or Update from the pop-up menu.

The Add Refresh Token dialog displays.

  5. Enter your Tanzu Network UAA API TOKEN in the field provided. If you are updating the token, you must provide a value.

  6. Click SAVE or UPDATE.

Note: If you have already configured the **Provider Repo** storage setting, Data Management for VMware Tanzu will begin to download new templates and software updates. The time that this takes to complete is dependent upon the number of objects and the network latency between the Provider VM and Tanzu Network.
  7. Data Management for VMware Tanzu obscures the token value in the Tanzu Net Token pane.

Removing the Tanzu Net Token
