Introduction

You can use the Management Pack for vCloud Director with vRealize Operations Manager. The Management Pack for vCloud Director monitors the health of supported vCloud Director entities and sends early warning alerts for monitored Provider Virtual Data Center (VDC) objects

What's New

• vCloud Director Edge Gateway establishes a relationship with NSX-T logical routers.
• AppLaunchpad metrics are collected from the Applaunchpad extension.
• Kubernetes cluster metrics are collected from the Container Service Extension.
• Management Pack for vCloud Director is now compatible with vRealize Operations Management Pack for Cloud Director Availability. For more information, see Solution Exchange.
• Additional metrics collection for IP count on external networks.

Compatibility

• Management Pack for vCloud Director 5.4 is supported only on vRealize Operations Manager 8.2 and 8.1.

Resolved Issues

• Duplicate VM sizing policies from the Management Pack for vCloud Director

  There are duplicate VM sizing policies from the Management Pack for vCloud Director such as:

  • System Default (orgVDC-<ipaddress>-ReservationReservationPool-Policy)
  • System Default (orgVDC-<ipaddress>-ReservationReservationPoolMaxPolicy)
  • System Default (orgVDC-<ipaddress>-AllocationVApp-Policy)
  • System Default (orgVDC-<ipaddress>-New-PAYGAllocationVApp-Policy)
  • System Default (orgVDC-<ipaddress>-AllocationAllocationPool-Policy)

  Workaround: Differentiate by policy ID or OrgVDC relationships.

Known Issues

• The relationship between Cloud cell and vCloud vCenter is missing for VMware vCloud Director 9.7 and later versions

  There are relationship changes between Cloud cell and vCenter for VMware vCloud Director 9.7 and later versions. The Management Pack for vCloud Director 5.4 does not display the relationship between Cloud cell and vCenter within vRealize Operations Manager.
