Ports and Log Files

Some services and ports must be available to communicate with the rest of the data center.

External Interfaces, Ports, and Services required by the Management Pack for Storage Devices

For monitoring Fiber Channel (FC) and Fiber Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) using CIM protocol (SMI-S standard):

• Port 5989 must be open on each ESXi host.
• Port 5988 must be open on each FC Switch using http or port 5989 must be open on each FC Switch using https.

Log Files and Security Updates

Log files are available in the vRealize Operations Manager platform in the /storage/log/vcops/log/adapters/StorageAdapter and /storage/log/vcops/log/adapters/FabricServerAdapter folders. Administrator privileges are assigned to service users.
