About the VMware vRealize Operations Management Pack for VMware Site Recovery Manager 8.1.2

The VMware vRealize Operations Management Pack for VMware Site Recovery Manager 8.1.2 allows VMware administrators to monitor the local Site Recovery Manager Windows services in VMware vRealize Operations Manager. The vRealize Operations Management Pack for VMware Site Recovery Manager provides capabilities for monitoring the connectivity between Site Recovery Manager instances, the availability of a remote Site Recovery Manager instance, and the status of protection groups and recovery plans in Site Recovery Manager. Alarms are generated when there are Site Recovery Manager Server connectivity issues encountered or protection groups and recovery plans are in error state. The user interface provides statistics for the number of SRM-related objects and how many of them have errors.

The vRealize Operations Management Pack for VMware Site Recovery Manager 8.1.2 release runs with VMware vRealize Operations Manager 7.5. For more information on interoperability with earlier or later releases of VMware vRealize Operations Manager, see the VMware Product Interoperability Matrices.

You can download the vRealize Operations Management Pack for Site Recovery Manager 8.1.2 from the download page.

Caveats and Limitations

  • Restarting the Site Recovery Manager services during the first collection cycle of vRealize Operations Manager results in dashboard widgets not working. If this happens, you must re-install the Site Recovery Manager adapter or adapters.
  • Storage policy protection groups (SPPG) and  SPPG-related information such as objects, inventory tree, and metrics are not reflected in vRealize Operations Manager.

Known Issues

  • Srm Configuration Summary does not always show Recovery Plans and Protection Groups pies

The Srm Configuration Summary does not always show Recovery Plans and Protection Groups pies.

Workaround: Edit the Dashboard and choose Srm World object manually for each view, then save the dashboard.

  • When a Protection Group or a Recovery Plan is removed, the associated alarms, if any, do not disappear

When a Protection Group or a Recovery Plan is removed, the associated alarms, if any, do not disappear. The alarms are visible under All alarms in the UI. This does not affect the health of the Site Recovery Manager Site. It is calculated correctly.

    Workaround: Delete the alarms manually.
