Migration to the VMware Site Recovery Manager Virtual Appliance

You can migrate your Site Recovery Manager 8.3.x instance from Windows to the Site Recovery Manager 8.3.x virtual appliance and then upgrade to Site Recovery Manager 8.5.0.7 Virtual Appliance. Resolved Issues

• Unable to create resource mapping for a listed data center in the vCenter Server inventory

  When you are configuring resource mappings using the listed data center in the vCenter Server inventory, the operation fails with a "null" error in the Site Recovery user interface. The log file of Site Recovery Manager, located in /H5Logs/dr.log, contains a "java.lang.NullPointerException" error.

  This issue is fixed in Site Recovery Manager 8.5.0.7.

• The IP customization steps for SUSE Linux distributions fail with an error

  The IP customization on SUSE Linux guest OS fails sporadically with "Failed to authenticate with the guest operating system using the supplied credentials.". The log file of the recovered VM, located at /var/log/vmware-imc/srmDeployGuestAlias.log, contains entries similar to the following:
  Wed Jan 26 08:57:36 2022 Getting vmtoolsd path.
Wed Jan 26 08:57:36 2022 ERROR: Could not find vmtoolsd path at : [vmtoolsd]
​Wed Jan 26 08:57:36 2022 Completed with error; reporting exit code: -10003

  This issue is fixed in Site Recovery Manager 8.5.0.7.
