You can use feed health on the Uhana by VMware platform to monitor the quality of the incoming data feed from LTE eNodeBs, NR gNBs, and LTE MMEs. It is critical to have a good quality feed to ensure that everything functions properly on the platform.
The following sections describe the views available and the display data charts and graphs.
The feed health pages for LTE eNodeBs, NR gNodeBs, and LTE MMEs display the following key indicators aggregated at a network level every minute.
Network view feed health details
Component | Description |
---|---|
Event Delay | Average latency between the time an event was generated at a node and the time it was received by the platform. Time series chart. The typical observed latency for LTE eNodeBs and LTE MMEs is within a few seconds; for NR gNBs, a few hundred milliseconds. |
Total Events/Sec | Number of events ingested by the platform per second. Time series chart. |
Total Event Drop Rate | Rate of dropped events reported by nodes. Time series chart. A high drop rate can indicate that the node or the underlying network infrastructure is not configured appropriately for the volume of network telemetry that is being transmitted. |
Event Count per Event Type | Number of events per event type. Time series chart. The platform receives a large number of event types from LTE eNodeBs and NR gNBs telemetry. Use this chart to identify the event rate for different types of events; for example, bandwidth-heavy events. You can also use to verify that all the configured events are being streamed to the platform. |
In addition to the Network View charts that are available across LTE eNodeBs, MMEs, and NR gNBs, the charts listed in the LTE All and NR All tables are also available at a network level depending on the feed type.

---|---|
Cell Feed Count | Number of unique LTE cells sending feed data to the platform. Time series chart. |
eNodeB Feed Count | Number of unique LTE eNodeBs sending feed data to the platform. Time series chart. |
Aggregate Feed Statistics (per eNodeB) | Aggregate view of event count, event delay and number of drops per eNodeB in table format. Use column sorting to quickly identify eNodeB
|
Aggregate Feed Statistics (per cell) | Aggregate view of event count and event delay per LTE cell in table format. For similar use cases, see Aggregate Feed Statistics per eNodeB. |
eNodeB TCP Connect/Disconnect Events | Number of TCP connects and disconnects aggregated across all eNodeBs in a time series chart. |

Cell Feed Count | Number of unique NR cells sending feed data to the platform. Time series chart. |
gNodeB Feed Count | Number of unique gNBs sending feed data to the platform. Time series chart. |
Aggregate Feed Statistics (per gNodeB) | Aggregate view of event count, event delay, and number of drops per gNodeB in table format. or similar use cases, see Aggregate Feed Statistics per eNodeB. |
Aggregate Feed Statistics (per NR cell) | Aggregate view of event count, and event delay per NR cell in table format. For similar use cases, see Aggregate Feed Statistics per eNodeB. |
TCP Connect/Disconnect Events | Number of TCP connects and disconnects aggregated across all gNBs. Time series chart. |
With the node view you can view minute-level feed health statistics for a specific LTE, eNodeB, or NR gNBs. You can enter an operator-defined site ID for the node or the node ID in the search bar.

In addition, LTE eNodeBs report a metric called Processor Load. This metric indicates the CPU load for the eNodeB and is reported periodically. Use this metric to correlate with Total Event Drop Rate to determine whether drops are caused due to high processor load.
With the cell view you can view minute-level feed health statistics for a specific LTE or NR cell. You can enter an operator-defined site ID for the cell or the global ID in the search bar.
