This topic describes the Uhana by VMware user profiles and the authentication and authorization security choices for those users.

User profiles

Uhana by VMware uses two levels of user profiles, each coming with associated privileges

  • Administrators with full access to all menus and API functions. This profile is recognized as the super user.
  • Operators (staff) with access to all menus and API functions except the Admin menu.

Authentication overview

All access to the web-based dashboard requires authentication. Two options are available

  • Authentication using local user accounts

  • Authentication against an external user database/authentication system such as SSO
