VMware Unified Access Gateway Release Notes provides information about the new features and enhancements in each release. This page contains a summary of the new capabilities, issues resolved, and known issues that are reported in each version.

What's New

VMware Unified Access Gateway 2306 provides the following new features and enhancements:

  • Added compatibility with Horizon Connection Server’s support for setting enforcement state from clients with the same or a higher certificate checking mode.

  • Added support for PKG file type to Custom Executable distribution.

  • Support for enforcing virtual channel restrictions with Blast protocol. This list overrides any settings applied through the Horizon Agent.

  • Improved compatibility with Web Reverse Proxying to web services using NTLM authentication.

  • Enhancements in SAML authentication for the Admin UI administrator login.

    • Configuration of static Service Provider entity id that is included in the Service Provider's metadata.

    • Option to sign SAML AuthNRequest with TLS certificate installed on admin interface.

  • Added support to Tunnel Edge Service for optional Configuration ID parameter (used in future UEM release).

  • Logging improvements and troubleshooting enhancements.

  • Updates to Photon OS package versions and Java component versions.

Resolved Issues

Note: The numbers included before the resolved issues are used by VMware's internal issue tracking system.

  • UAG-9066: Web Reverse Proxy returns invalid URL on Identity Provider initiated subsequent launch of an app when accessed from the Workspace ONE Access catalog.

  • UAG-9029: Certificate files not ending with newline character that are uploaded as part of the Tunnel edge service are not properly stored.

  • UAG-9248: Resetting admin password from Admin UI does not check password policy restrictions.

  • UAG-9249: Running adminpwd command from (root login) console does not display the character length requirement.

  • UAG-8649: Name Id Suffix missing in RSA SecurID authentication configuration.

  • PPAT-13326: Using outbound proxies with NTLM auth might create integer overflow.

  • PPAT-13368, PPAT-13467: Localhost addresses are not being blocked by Server Traffic Rules.

  • PPAT-13418, PPAT-13421: Authentication with SAML does not validate the assertion in SAML correctly.

  • PPAT-14179: DDoS protection improperly throttles connections when back-end connections exceeds 60000/min.

  • PPAT-14356: Client connectivity fails intermittently due to duplicate client sessions.
