If you want to stop further synchronization from a source instance to a target instance, for example, due to network issues or maintenance operations on the target - you can deactivate the target instance. You can start synchronization any time by activating the target instance.

A target instance can be deactivated only from the source instance. When the instance is deactivated, applications and packages are no longer synchronized. If the control settings for marker and assignment synchronization are activated, then the markers and assignments are also not synchronized.

If the target instance is no longer necessary or you want to remove the synchronization relationship between the source and target, you must remove the target from the source instance. For more information about removing a target instance, see Remove an App Volumes Instance.

To re-establish the synchronization relationship, you must register (add) the target with the source instance. For more information about adding a target instance, see Register an App Volumes Instance as a Target.

Procedure

  1. Log into the App Volumes Manager admin UI of a source App Volumes instance.
  2. Navigate to INFRASTRUCTURE > Instances.
  3. In the Related Instances section, select the target instance to which you must temporarily stop synchronization from the source.
  4. Click Deactivate.
  5. On the Confirm Deactivate window, click Deactivate.
Status of the target instance is Inactive.

Results

The target instance is deactivated, and synchronization attempts are stopped from the source instance.
