If you have previously installed the VMware Aria Automation Plug-in 8.13 version from the ServiceNow store, you can update it to VMware Aria Automation Plug-in 8.13.1 version in your instance.

Prerequisites

  • You must be the system administrator in ServiceNow.

  • You must deactivate the following scheduled jobs:

    • vRA Import Project

    • vRA Import Catalog

    • vRA Import Resources and CMDB

    • vRA Delete Queue

    • vRA Reconcile Actions

  • The user criteria scoped API plug-in must be installed. For details, see Install the user criteria scoped API plug-in.

  • A data source choice list must be created. See Create a Data Source Choice in ServiceNow.

  • You must set the Replace on upgrade flag as True for the table records having customizations by following the below steps:

    • In the filter Navigator, type the sys_update_xml.LIST table name and press Enter.

    • On the Customer Updates page, click the gear icon. The Personalize List Columns window will display.

    • Under the Available column list, add the following to the Selected column and click OK.

      • Replace on upgrade

      • Application

    • In the Application column, search for VMware Aria Automation Plug-in. The number of table records will be listed.

    • Place the pointer on the Type, and click vertical ellipsis > Group By Type. A list of records will be listed based on Type.

    • Expand the System Property and set the Replace on upgrade to True for all the system properties.

    Note:
    • You must set the “Replace on upgrade” as True for any table records that contain customizations.

    • For more information on overwriting your customizations, see Overwrite customizations during an upgrade.

    • If you have skipped updating the “Replace on upgrade” flag for table records having customizations before upgrading, then the records will fall into Skipped and Skipped Manual Merge. For more information, see Troubleshoot.

Procedure

  1. Log in to ServiceNow as a system administrator.
  2. In the left pane, click System Applications > All Available Applications >All.
  3. Search for VMware Aria Automation Plug-in.
  4. Select the latest release version and click Update.
  5. Select the Load Demo Data checkbox and click Update. The current version will be updated to latest release version.
  6. Make sure that all the scheduled jobs are in the Inactive state.
  7. Provide the required access for the question choice table. See Enable Application Access.
  8. Navigate to Manage Endpoints and open each registered endpoint.
  9. Click the Validate and Save button.
  10. Run the scheduled jobs:
    1. In the left pane, click VMware Aria Automation >Job Schedules.
    2. Activate all the scheduled jobs that were deactivated initially.
    3. Run the Import Project first then run the Import Catalog schedule job.
    4. Run the Import Resources and CMDB schedule job.
