Configuring subscriptions in VMware Aria Automation establishes a communication channel from VMware Aria Automation Orchestrator to ServiceNow so that event data received from VMware Aria Automation through VMware Aria Automation Orchestrator will be sent to ServiceNow.
Prerequisites
You must have access to VMware Aria Automation and VMware Aria Automation Orchestrator.
Procedure
- Log in to the VMware Aria Automation Assembler.
- Select the Extensibility tab.
- On the left pane, click Subscriptions.
- Click NEW SUBSCRIPTION to create a new subscription.
- Provide the values to the following fields on the NEW SUBSCRIPTION page:

Workflow |
Add the Event Based Data Sync for ServiceNow workflow that was configured earlier. See Configure Event-based data sync in VMware Aria Automation. |
Project Scope |
Enable the Any Project toggle button. |
- Click Save.
- Repeat the above steps to create subscriptions for the following events:
- Deployment Action Complete.
- Deployment Resource Complete
- Deployment Resource Action Complete
- Provider Resource Action CUD
Note:
After successfully configuring events using the VMware Aria Automation Orchestrator interface and creating subscriptions in VMware Aria Automation, the Event Based Data Sync for ServiceNow workflow will handle the events based on the specified subscriptions, allowing the ServiceNow users to receive the updates from VMware Aria Automation.
The plug-in is compatible with event-based data synchronization out of the box hence no configuration steps are required.
