You must set up an administrative user in VMware Aria Automation Cloud. The VMware Aria Automation Plug-in connects to VMware Aria Automation using the credentials of this user. After the user is created, you must generate the refresh key to register the VMware Aria Automation Plug-in with the VMware Aria Automation cloud.

The user must have these roles in VMware Aria Automation Cloud but they do not require roles in ServiceNow:

  • Organization Member

  • Project Member

  • Service Broker User

  • Assembler Administrator

To assign these roles, see VMware Aria Automation Cloud documentation.

The user must have the following roles in the VMware Aria Automation Cloud version for using multi-tenancy :

  • Organization Member

  • Project Administrator

  • Service Broker User

  • Assembler User

Note:

All catalog item requests from ServiceNow are serviced by this user in VMware Aria Automation. In VMware Aria Automation, the requests and corresponding deployments display this user as the owner. However, in ServiceNow, requests and corresponding deployments display the ServiceNow user who initiated the request. This is achieved by correlating the email address from the user records across two systems.
