You can import your on-premises Aria products with activated VMware Aria Universal Suite licenses to VMware Aria Hub Subscription.

Prerequisites

  • Have active VMware Aria Universal Suite licenses.

  • Have VMware Customer Connect Account.

Procedure

  1. Use your VMware Cloud administrator credentials and log in to the VMware Cloud Services console.
  2. Select Services, and then click the VMware Aria Hub Subscription service tile.
  3. On the License Management page, click Import.
  4. Select your VMware Customer Connect credentials and click Next.

    To add a new Customer Connect account, perform the following steps.

    • From the left menu, select Settings, and then select VMware Customer Connect.

    • Click ADD VMWARE CUSTOMER CONNECT.

    • Enter the user name and password, and then click VALIDATE & SAVE.

    To update an existing Customer Connect account, perform the following steps.

    • Select VMware Customer Connect, and then select the required account and click UPDATE.

    • Enter the user name and password, and then click VALIDATE & SAVE.

    To delete an existing Customer Connect account, ensure that the endpoint does not have any license associated with the Customer Connect account.

    Click Refresh to sync the VMware Aria Universal Suite licenses from Customer Connect to VMware Aria Hub Subscription.

  5. Select the Cloud Proxy and click Next.
    Note:

    Ensure that the status of the selected Cloud Proxy is active.

    If you want to add a Cloud Proxy, go to Configuring a Cloud Proxy in VMware Aria Hub Subscription.

    If you want to use an existing Cloud Proxy available in the same organization under a different cloud service, click EXISTING CLOUD PROXY and click ADD.

  6. Under Verify Product, select the Product Type from the drop-down menu, and then select the Version.

    Licenses existing on the product belong only to the subscriptions redeemed in the current organization. Ensure all the Customer Connect details in the current organization are added to the Settings page.

  7. Enter the FQDN/IP Address.
  8. Based on the selected product, you can select the Admin Password or the Root Password.
  9. Select the check box to remove all the perpetual licenses from the selected product, if required.
  10. When the validation is complete, click Submit.

    If you want to add another product, click ADD PRODUCT.

What to do next

You can view the new VMware Aria Universal Suite on-premises licenses added in the License Management page. You can perform the following actions:

On the Product License card:

  • Click Refresh icon to sync with the product and retrieve the latest license details.
  • Click Details to view the license details.

If there are multiple licenses displayed on the License Management page, you can click the filter icon on the right and select the status. There are four status available:

  • Complete: Shows when the license activation is successful.

  • In Progress: Shows after you submit your license activation request.

  • Failed: Shows when the license activation fails.

  • Not Supported: Shows when the Aria products have only perpetual license.
