Apart from the default VMware Cloud Services roles assigned to users, you can assign additional roles to users or remove roles assigned to users. Adding or removing roles lets you control user access to VMware Aria Operations for Logs (SaaS) features.

You can add or remove custom roles for the organization or for a region within the organization.


Verify that you are logged in to the VMware Aria Operations for Logs (SaaS) web user interface as an organization owner.


  1. Expand the main menu and navigate to Configuration > Access Control.
  2. On the Users tab, search for a user.
  3. Click the three dots icon to the left of the user name and select Edit Roles.
  4. Do either of the following:
    • To assign roles to the user, select roles from the drop-down menu.
      Tip: You can also create a role to assign to the user. For more information, see Create a Custom Role.
    • To remove a role assigned to the user, click the cross icon next to the role name.
      Note: You cannot remove the default administrator, user, or organization owner roles.
  5. Click Save.
