VMware Aria Operations for Networks enables you to add custom local tags for supported data sources.

Local tags are always a key-value pair where you can add a unique key and a value. The local tags help you organize and find your data source faster and better. The local tags has the following characteristics:

  • Tags are always key-value pairs.
  • Keys must be unique with only one value.
  • Tags are extended properties of entities.
  • Tags are meant to be consumed with search.
  • Tag key can be of maximum 63 characters and value can be of maximum 255 characters.
  • Maximum 25 tags can be added per data source.
  • Tags can be used only for plain text search.

You can add the local tags only in VMware Aria Operations for Networks. When you select Apply tag operations to all associated entities check box, the tags get applied to all associated entities related to that data source.
