You can upload your DNS mapping file on VMware Aria Operations for Networks to provide information about flows between physical devices. The supported file formats are the Bind and CSV file format. Ensure that you have placed these files in a single ZIP file.

Note: VMware Aria Operations for Networks does not support password-protected ZIP files.

Procedure

  1. Go to Settings > IP Properties and Subnets > Physical IP and DNS Mapping.
  2. Click Upload to upload your DNS mapping file. After you select and upload the file, click Validate. The number of DNS records is displayed after validation.
    The Upload operation removes any existing DNS mappings and replaces them with the mappings that are being imported.

    The DNS Mapping file consists of the following fields:

    • Host Name
    • IP Address (IPv4 or IPv6 address)
    • Domain Name
