You can add NSX-V (NSX Data Center for vSphere) as a data source in VMware Aria Operations for Networks.
Important: Support to add
NSX Data Center for vSphere as a data source in
VMware Aria Operations for Networks will be deprecated in a future release.
Note: If you have migrated an existing
NSX Data Center for vSphere data source to
NSX, then to get insights about that data source, you must do the following:
- Remove the existing NSX Data Center for vSphere data source from VMware Aria Operations for Networks.
- Add NSX as a data source. For information on adding NSX in VMware Aria Operations for Networks, see Add VMware NSX-T Manager topic.
Prerequisites
- You must add VMware vCenter as a data source.
- If Central CLI is enabled, then you must know the system admin credentials.
- You must have the following privileges:
NSX Version User NSX 6.4 and the further releases - You have to be a super user, an enterprise administrator, an auditor, or an NSX security administrator.
Note: An NSX network administrator cannot add NSX Manager as a data source.
NSX 6.2 and the further releases before NSX 6.4 - The user credentials that need to be provided while adding NSX Manager as a data source must be of an enterprise admin or super user.
- The user should be an administrator to enable the edge data population.
- You have to be a super user, an enterprise administrator, an auditor, or an NSX security administrator.
- To run the NSX Central CLI commands required by VMware Aria Operations for Networks, you must be one of the users:
- An Auditor
- A super user
- An NSX security administrator
- To enable latency metric collection, you must be a super user or an enterprise administrator.
