If you have configured Security Certificate Validation as Manual Acceptance, then you must accept the new certificate (HTTPS certificate or SSH public key) for each data source whenever the system detects any change in certificate.

When you add a data source in VMware Aria Operations for Networks, all the certificates (HTTPs certificates or SSH public keys) related to that data source are automatically added as a trust on first use. After you add the data source in VMware Aria Operations for Networks, every time there is any change in the certificate, the system validates the certificate.

If you have configured Data Source Certificate Validation as Manual Acceptance, whenever VMware Aria Operations for Networks detects any changes in the certificate, it stops the data source and shows you an alert message notification to accept the certificate manually. When you accept the certificate, the system starts the data source. You can also see the certificate change alert in the Accounts and Data Sources page. Use this procedure to accept the certificate.

Procedure

  • In the Data source certificate update available alert message notification, click REVIEW.
    If the number of certificates update available is up to two:
    1. You see a Data Source Certificate window with current certificate and new certificate details.
    2. Review the new certificate and click ACCEPT.
    If the number of certificates update available is more than two:
    1. In the Accounts and Data Source page, you see the
      Certificate update available. Click here to review and accept
      message under the data source where the certificate update is available.
    2. Click Click here to review and accept for the data source you want to review and accept the updated certificate.
    3. You see a Data Source Certificate window with the current certificate and new certificate details.
    4. Review the new certificate and click ACCEPT.

Results

When you accept the new certificate, you see Successfully updated the certificate message.
