You can edit alert definitions and set notifications for the preferred system events.
Procedure
- Click the edit icon on the Action column for the problem you want to edit.
- Change the severity.
Note: Applicable only for Problem type - Alert Definition.
- Add or remove event tags if required.
Note: Applicable only for Problem type - Alert Definition.
- Select Include/Exclude entities if you want the alert to be enabled or deactivated for selected entities.
- To create inclusion rules:
- Select Include/Exclude entities check box.
- Click INCLUDE.
- Specify the entities which you want to include from the drop-down menu.
You can specify multiple entities in the inclusion rule by adding multiple conditions by clicking ADD CONDITION button.
- To create exclusion rules:
- Select Include/Exclude entities check box.
- Click EXCLUDE.
- Specify the entities which you want to exclude from the drop-down menu.
Note:- You can create multiple rules in both inclusion and exclusion lists by clicking ADD CONDITION button.
- You can also specify Custom search by writing your own query to include or exclude entities.
Note: Applicable only for Problem type - Alert Definition. - To create inclusion rules:
- To get alert notification, do the following:
Option Action Email notification
Select Email immediately, Email daily digest, or both to specify the frequency at which you want to receive the emails. If you select Email immediately, you get email notification immediately when an alert is raised.
If you select Email daily digest, you get email notification at a pre-select time every day for all the alerts that are raised in the system.
If you do not have an SNMP trap configured Click Configure SNMP Trap. To know how to configure an SNMP trap, see Configure SNMP Trap Destination. If you have already configured an SNMP trap configured Select one or more SNMP trap destinations from Send SNMP Trap to drop-down menu. You can select up to four SNMP trap destinations. - Click SUBMIT.
