Note: Product support packs 8.12.0.x and later include all the updates and enhancements that are provided in VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle 8.12 Patch 1. You do not need to apply Patch 1 if you have already applied the most recent product support pack.

Support Pack Installation Instructions

To install a PSPAK when VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle is connected to the internet, perform the following steps:

  1. Verify that you have taken a snapshot of the VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle Virtual Appliance (VA).

  2. Log in to the VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle VA.

  3. On the VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle Operations dashboard, navigate to Settings > Product Support Pack.

  4. Select the Support for Additional Product Versions section. VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle auto-populates the list of available support versions. If the list is not auto-populated, click CHECK SUPPORT PACKS ONLINE.

  5. When the list is populated, click Apply Version in Settings> Product Support Pack for the appropriate content version.

  6. After the PSPAK installation is triggered successfully, VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle services are restarted and you are redirected to VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle login page.

    Note: To verify that the correct VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle 8.12 Product Support Pack is installed, on the VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle Operations dashboard, navigate to Settings > Product Support Pack. The option should list version 8.12.x (exact version is dependent on the downloaded PSPAK) along with the supported versions of VMware Aria Automation, VMware Aria Automation Orchestrator, and VMware Aria Automation Config.

To install PSPAK when VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle is not connected to the internet, perform the following steps:

  1. Verify that you have taken a snapshot of VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle Virtual Appliance (VA).

  2. Download the product support pack file from the VMware Patch Download Center.

  3. Log in to VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle VA.

  4. On the VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle Operations dashboard, navigate to Settings > Product Support Pack.

  5. Select the Support for Additional Product Versions section.

  6. To upload the downloaded product support pack file, click Upload and click SELECT FILE to select the .pspak file, and click Import.

  7. When the list is populated, click Apply Version in Settings> Product Support Pack for the appropriate content version.

  8. After the PSPAK installation is triggered successfully, VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle services are restarted and you are redirected to VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle login page.

    Note: To verify your new PSPAK, on the VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle Operations dashboard, navigate to Settings > Product Support Pack.

  9. After you have added the .pspak file successfully, refresh the user interface.

To download the product support pack, visit the VMware Patch Download Center, and select VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle from the product drop-down menu, and then download the product support pack.

Resolved Issues

  • Not all passwords are shown in the VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle locker.

    In the VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle locker, only 10 passwords are shown.

  • Unable to download VMware Aria Automation 8.12.0 install binary.

    You are unable to download VMware Aria Automation 8.12 from MyVMware in VMware Aria Suite Lifcycle 8.12.0.

  • Issues with environments that contain VMware Aria Automation Orchestrator/vRealize Orchestrator after upgrading to VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle.

    After upgrading to VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle 8.12, for all environments that contain VMware Aria Automation Orchestrator/vRealize Orchestrator you are unable to initiate upgrade of any products in that environment. To resolve this issue, install VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle 8.12 Product Support Pack 1.

  • Cannot download the upgrade package for VMware Aria Operations for Logs 8.12 with VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle 8.12.

    After upgrading to VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle 8.12, install VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle 8.12 Product Support Pack 2 and then download VMware Aria Operations for Logs 8.12 and upgrade the vRealize Log Insight application to VMware VMware Aria Operations for Logs 8.12.
