Note

Increase VMware Aria Automation memory to 54 GB for Medium sized appliances only

When upgrading VMware Aria Automation to version 8.16.2, you might encounter a pre-check error indicating the need to raise appliance memory to 54 GB. Follow these steps to adjust the memory on the appliances accordingly.

  1. Shutdown the VMware Aria Automation appliance or cluster by using the Power Off day 2 action in VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle.

  2. Ensure that there are no snapshots on the appliances. If you have any, delete the snapshots as vCenter will not allow any resource expansion with snapshots.

  3. Increase the memory of the VMware Aria Automation appliances to 54 GB by using the VMware vSphere Client and selecting the Edit Settings menu option.

  4. Startup the VMware Aria Automation appliance or cluster by using the Power On day 2 action in VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle.

After these steps are performed, VMware Aria Automation can be upgraded to version 8.16.2.

My VMware based operations deprecated from UI

  • Following the application of Product Support Pack 4 for version 8.16.0, the My VMware based operations in VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle will no longer be available.

  • Post Day-2 migration from Customer Connect to the Broadcom Support Portal, operations such as downloading product binaries, patches, and product support packs, as well as connecting to the My VMware portal, are deprecated.

  • Customers are expected to manually download from the Broadcom Support Portal and then upload to VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle.
