This section provides a list of checks to be performed after successful upgrade of Avi Load Balancer.

Avi Load Balancer supports a simple system upgrade method wherein all Avi Load Balancer Controller nodes and SE nodes are upgraded to the newer software version in one upgrade sequence. The list of checks performed post-upgrade are:

  • Execute show upgrade status to ensure that the upgrade is successful. The status should be UPGRADE_COMPLETED.

  • Execute show version controller and show version serviceengine to ensure that the service engines are on the version expected.

  • Ensure all the three nodes of the Controller cluster are active.

  • Ensure that the Cloud Status is Placement Ready.

  • Inspect the Application Dashboard to ensure the application’s health is as expected. If you have traffic tools to test the availability of the virtual services, ensure that this is running successfully. For more information, see Virtual Service Health Monitoring topic in the VMware Avi Load BalancerMonitoring and Operability Guide.
