Configuring IP Address Pools

This section describes the steps to manage static and DHCP IP Address

Managing Static IP Address

The following are the steps to configure IP address pools for networks hosting Avi Load Balancer SEs and (optionally) VIPs:

1. Navigate to Infrastructure > Cloud Resources > Networks.

2. Choose a Cloud from the Select Cloud drop-down menu.

3. Search and edit the required Network object.

4. Deselect Enable DHCP check box under IP Address Management.

5. Click ADD button under Subnets section to add an IP address network.

   1. Specify the IP Address Range to grant the IPs.

   2. Either a single pool or a dedicated pool of IPs will be used for both VIPs and Avi Load Balancer SEs.

      1. To use a single pool of IPs, you can select Use Static IP Address for VIPs and SE check box and specify the range of IPs from the configured IP subnet.

      2. To use a dedicated pool of IPs for the Avi Load Balancer Service Engines, you can deselect Use Static IP Address for VIPs and SE check box.

         • Select SE vNIC in the Use For field to specify the range of IPs from the configured IP subnet used for the Avi Load Balancer SEs.

6. (Optional) Repeat step 5 to add more subnets to the Network object.

7. Click SAVE to complete configuring the Network object.

Managing DHCP IP Address

The following are the steps to use DHCP on networks hosting Avi Load Balancer SEs and (optionally) VIPs:

1. Navigate to Infrastructure > Cloud Resources > Networks.

2. Choose a Cloud from the Select Cloud drop-down menu.

3. Search and edit the required Network object.

4. Select Enable DHCP check box under IP Address Management.

5. Click SAVE to complete configuring the Network object.
