Creating an authentication for the Git project in VMware BMA allows you to gain access to the Git project from VMware BMA. This allows you to start working with the Git project from VMware BMA. This procedure helps you to authenticate the Git project in VMware BMA using the Git project URL.

Procedure

  1. Log in to VMware BMA.
  2. Click the Authentication tab.
  3. Click Create Authentication.
  4. Enter the authentication name in the Name field.
  5. (Optional) Enter the description for the authentication in the Description field.
  6. From the Service drop-down, select Git.
  7. Enter URL, branch, Username, and password.

    URL It is URL of the Git project.
    branch

    Example: main

    It is the branch name of the Git project.

    Username It is the username used to access the Git project.
    password It is the Personal Access Token created on Git.

    Note: You must select the Overridable check boxes of these fields. This allows you to edit these fields while you Set Up a Git Configuration in VMware BMA Web UI.
  8. Click Create.
