External Login Providers

You can configure external login providers in VMware BMA.

You can add the LDAP, RADIUS, and SAML details to use these as alternative login method.

The Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) configuration allows you to set up a client-server protocol for accessing and maintaining directory services. You can use LDAP for large numbers of queries and minimal updates.

The Remote Authentication Dial-In User Service (RADIUS) is a networking client-server protocol that provides centralized Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting management for users who connect and use a network service.

The Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) is a standard for logging users into applications based on their sessions in an external identity provider (IdP). You can use SAML as an alternative way of logging into the system. An IdP is a system entity that creates, maintains, and manages identity information for users while providing authentication services to applications within a federation or distributed network. The identity provider acts as an authentication provider only. Trusted SAML metadata ensures a secure transaction between an SAML identity provider (IdP) and a service provider.
