Cloning VMware Blockchain

VMware Blockchain lets you perform a backup of the state and use this state backup to create a blockchain deployment clone.

This cloning capability is helpful in the following scenarios:

• If a transaction fails or produces unexpected results, create a temporary blockchain deployment clone and troubleshoot the problems in that temporary cloned blockchain deployment environment without causing any disruptions in the production environment.

• You can use a cloned blockchain deployment environment as a sandbox to test and resolve upgrade problems before upgrading the production environment. For example, you can initiate a smart contract upgrade process in a cloned blockchain deployment environment.

• A cloned blockchain deployment environment can be used as a backup if a production-level application upgrade fails.
