Core VMware Blockchain Components

VMware Blockchain comprises core components that provide a stable framework for smart contract execution engines.

• Replica Network- A set of Replica nodes containing a single and consistent state. The nodes within the Replica Network communicate using a BFT consensus algorithm.

• Replica node- Maintains a copy of the state and a DAML Execution engine to execute requests originating from the Client nodes.

• Client node- Provides an interface between applications and the Replica Network. Client nodes are responsible for sending requests to the Replica Network and receiving responses. These responses are sent to the Daml application.

• VMware Blockchain deployment- A Replica Network and collection of Client nodes that connect to this Replica Network.

• VMware Blockchain Orchestrator- A standalone VApp that deploys VMware Blockchain nodes.
