Moving the Database to an External Server

When you installed the Carbon Black App Control Server, one of your choices was whether to put the Carbon Black App Control Server database on the same computer as the Carbon Black App Control Server. You might find that the volume of Carbon Black App Control data requires a transition from a shared location to a dedicated database server.

Moving the primary Carbon Black App Control Server database requires steps outside of the Carbon Black App Control Console, including running the Carbon Black App Control Server installation program to reconnect to the new server. To make this transition, contact VMware Carbon Black Support.

Note: The External Event Logging options on the System Configuration Events tab are for enabling supplemental event logging, not for moving the primary database.
