To create an alert, perform the following procedure.


  1. In the console menu, click Tools > Alerts.
  2. From the Alerts page, click the Add Alert button. The Alert Information page appears:

  3. Enter the information requested. See Alert Fields for details about the fields you can specify.
  4. When you have finished defining the alert, click either Create, to create the new alert and stay on this page, or click Create & Exit to return to the table of alerts. (You might use Create if you want to add subscribers to this alert.)


The new alert appears on the Alerts page. If the alert is Enabled, it begins monitoring activity on your network and triggers alerts if it finds conditions that match the definition you set up.
