Add Hash to Approved List

Use this procedure to add a hash to the approved list.

Note:

• This feature is not available for customers with standalone Carbon Black Cloud Enterprise EDR.
• MD5 is not supported. The hash must be in SHA-256 format.
• This procedure uses the Reputation page; however, you can also add to the approved list on the Investigate, Process Analysis, and Alerts pages.

Important: Any hash added to the approved list is assigned to the COMPANY_WHITE_LIST with the highest priority in the reputation hierarchy. Although no other reputation takes precedence over this status, it is still subject to At Path rules. These rules provide the ability to dictate non-desired behavior of specific applications, irrespective of reputation.

Procedure

1. Click Enforce > Reputation.
2. Click Add and select Hash as the type.
3. For List, select Approved List.
4. Enter the SHA-256 hash.
5. Enter the Name and Comments, and then click Save.
