Upgrade Server Operating System (Optional)

You can upgrade the server operating system between backup and restore procedures.

To upgrade the server operating system on a fresh machine:

1. Install the new operating system and install the license rpm.

2. Configure the machine — the following values must match the original installation:

   • IP address

   • Hostname

   • DNS resolution

3. Install Carbon Black EDR (or Carbon Black Unified View) and run cbinit . If this is a cluster, run add-nodes for each minion.
