This topic describes Carbon Black EDR server versions and the operating systems they support.
Carbon Black encourages all Carbon Black EDR customers to upgrade to current server versions to gain access to the latest features and functionality.
Carbon Black EDR does not support direct upgrades from Carbon Black EDR Server 5.x to Carbon Black EDR 7.x. In this case, you must first complete an intermediate upgrade to Carbon Black EDR Server 6.x before upgrading to Carbon Black EDR Server 7.x.
To ensure there is no data loss, Carbon Black EDR recommends that you remain on Carbon Black EDR Server 6.x for at least 30 days before proceeding with an upgrade to Carbon Black EDR Server 7.x or Carbon Black EDR Unified View 7.x .
