You can configure the vCenter, Cloud Director Instance, and NSX-T Endpoints from the VMware Chargeback UI. You can also configure these endpoints from the vRealize Operations Cloud UI.
- Configuring the vCenter, Cloud Director Instance, and NSX-T Endpoints in the VMware Chargeback creates the respective adapter instances in the vRealize Operations Cloud.
- An NSX-T adapter instance can be configured only in vRealize Operations Cloud through the VMware Cloud adapter configuration.
- NSX-v is not supported in VMware Chargeback.
Prerequisites
Verify that the Management Packs for Cloud Director Instance and NSX-T are installed in vRealize Operations Cloud.
Procedure
- From the left menu, go to Admin Setting > Integrations.
- To configure a vCenter cloud adapter instance:
- Select the vCenter Server tab and click Discover Instances.
When you click Discover Instances, all the available vCenter cloud accounts in the org are discovered and listed in the Configure state under the Actions column.
- (Optional) Click Add to manually add the vCenter cloud instance.
- Select the Instance name checkbox and click Configure.
- On the Edit vCenter Adapter page, enter the vCenter Server Username and Password.
- Select the Cloud Proxy option from the drop-down menu in the Collector/Group field, and click Test Connection. The test connection is successful only when the username and password are valid.
- Click Save.The instance is successfully configured.
- Select the vCenter Server tab and click Discover Instances.
- To configure a vCenter adapter instance:
- Select the vCenter Server tab and click Add.
Note: Ensure that the vCenter endpoint is accessible publicly or through Cloud Proxy.
- Enter the Display name of the vCenter instance and enter a valid Description.
- Enter the Hostname or FQDN of the vCenter Server.
- Enter the vCenter Server Username and Password.
- Select the Cloud Proxy option from the drop-down menu in the Collector/Group field, and click Test Connection. The test connection is successful only when the username and password are valid.
- Click Save. The instance is successfully configured.
- Select the vCenter Server tab and click Add.
- To configure a Cloud Director Instance:
- Select the VMware Cloud Director tab and click Discover Instances.
When you click Discover Instances, all the available Cloud Director Service (CDS) accounts in the org are discovered and listed in the Configure state under the Actions column.
- (Optional) Click Add to manually add the Cloud Director Instance.
- Select the Instance name checkbox and click Configure.
- On the Edit vCloud Adapter Instance page, enter the Cloud Director Instance Username and Password.
- Select the Cloud Proxy option from the drop-down menu in the Collector/Group field, and click Test Connection. The test connection is successful only when the username and password are valid.

- Select the VMware Cloud Director tab and click Discover Instances.
- To configure a NSX-T cloud adapter instance:
- Select the NSXT tab and click Discover Instances.
When you click Discover Instances, all the available NSX-T cloud accounts in the org are discovered and listed in the Configure state under the Actions column.
- (Optional) Click Add to manually add the NSXT cloud Instance.
- Select the Instance name checkbox and click Configure.
- On the Edit NSXT Adapter Instance page, enter the NSXT instance Username and Password.
- Select the Cloud Proxy option from the drop-down menu in the Collector/Group field, and click Test Connection. The test connection is successful only when the username and password are valid.
- Click Save.The instance is successfully configured.
- Select the NSXT tab and click Discover Instances.
- To configure a NSX-T adapter instance:
- Select the NSXT tab and click Add.
- Enter the Display name of the NSXT instance and enter a valid Description.
- Enter NSX Manager Hostname or FQDN.
- Enter the NSXT instance Username and Password.
- Select the Cloud Proxy option from the drop-down menu in the Collector/Group field, and click Test Connection. The test connection is successful only when the username and password are valid.
- Click Save.The instance is successfully configured.
