You can extend your application lifecycles using either Action-Based Extensibility (ABX) actions or vRealize Orchestrator hosted workflows with extensibility subscriptions.
Extensibility allows you to assign an ABX action or workflow to an event using subscriptions. When the specified event occurs, the subscription initiates the action or workflow to run, and all subscribers are notified.
Action-Based Extensibility (ABX) Actions
ABX actions are small, lightweight scripts of code to specify an action and how the action is to perform. You can import ABX actions from templates directly in Cloud Assembly or from a ZIP file. You can also manually enter the script in the New Action window. When multiple action scripts are linked together in one script, it is called an action flow. Using action flows you can create a sequence of actions. For information on using action flows, see What is an action flow.
vRealize Orchestrator Workflows
Cloud Assembly can integrate with your vRealize Orchestrator instance. Using this integration you can use your existing on-prem workflows with extensibility subscriptions.
