Re-establish the trust between two sites by re-pairing them or break the trust by un-pairing the sites. These pairing procedures between two peer sites apply for any of the following three appliance roles: On-Premises to Cloud Director Replication Appliance, On-Premises to Cloud vCenter Replication Appliance, and vCenter Replication Management Appliance roles.
Manage an on-premises site pairing with a Cloud Director site
To manage the pairing between an on-premises site and a Cloud Director site, you can perform the following procedures:
Note: Since
VMware Cloud Director Availability 4.7, for pairing the on-premises site with a Cloud Director site, in addition to using a local user, you can alternatively use an API token from
VMware Cloud Director. For information about generating the token in
VMware Cloud Director, see
Generate an API access token for pairing from VMware Cloud Director.
- Pair an On-Premises to Cloud Director Replication Appliance with the Cloud Director site. For information about the initial pairing, see Configure the On-Premises to Cloud Director Replication Appliance in the Installation, Configuration, and Upgrade Guide in On-Premises and Provider Site.
- Re-pair the On-Premises to Cloud Director Replication Appliance with the Cloud Director site. For information about re-establishing the trust, see Repair with a remote site.
- Un-pair the On-Premises to Cloud Director Replication Appliance. For information about removing the trust, see Unpair a remote site.
Manage pairing for vSphere DR and migration between vCenter sites
To manage the pairing between two vCenter sites for vSphere DR and migration, you can perform the following pairing procedures:
