This section details the VMware Cloud Director Container Service Extension server configuration process. To begin using VMware Cloud Director Container Service Extension as a service provider administrator, it is necessary to configure the server on a new virtual machine or an existing server that is part of the VMware Cloud Director installation. This virtual machine acts as the VMware Cloud Director Container Service Extension appliance.

Prerequisites

Before you configure the server on VMware Cloud Director, ensure the appropriate VMware Cloud Director Container Service Extension software is installed and the necessary configuration is complete.

Procedure

  1. Open vcd-cli and enter the following command:
    cse install -c config.yaml
    Note:

In VMware Cloud Director Container Service Extension 3.1.0, cse install installs all templates. To skip installing all templates, insert -t in the cse install command. VMware Cloud Director Container Service Extension 3.1.1 and newer versions do not install templates by default.

  2. Optional: To check if VMware Cloud Director Container Service Extension is installed correctly, enter the following command in vcd-cli:
    cse check config.yaml --check-install
