After you install and configure vCloud Director Object Storage Extension, verify that all components are successfully configured and start vCloud Director Object Storage Extension services.

Procedure

  1. Open an SSH connection to the machine to which you installed vCloud Director Object Storage Extension.
  2. Validate the configuration of vCloud Director Object Storage Extension by running the following command:
    voss_cli validate
    If all components are successfully configured, the system returns the following message: Certificate : [ Passed ] Database : [ Passed ] vCloud Director : [ Passed ] Cloudian Administration Service : [ Passed ] Cloudian Management Console : [ Passed ] Cloudian S3 Service : [ Passed ]If the system returns an error, review the log file at /opt/vmware/voss/log.
  3. Start the vCloud Director Object Storage Extension service by running the following command:
    voss_cli service start
  4. Verify the status of the vCloud Director Object Storage Extension service by running the following command:
    voss_cli service status
    Upon a successful start, the system returns the following message: Successfully started vOSE middleware!

    If you receive an error message, you can start the vCloud Director Object Storage Extension service in debugging mode by adding the --debug argument and troubleshoot the problem.

  5. Verify the status of the vCloud Director Object Storage Extension Keeper service by running the following command:
    systemctl status voss-keeper
    If the vCloud Director Object Storage Extension Keeper service runs as expected, the system returns a Running status.
