You can upgrade directly to VMware Cloud Director Object Storage Extension 2.0.0.3 from versions 2.x and 1.5. See Upgrading VMware Cloud Director Object Storage Extension.

Resolved Issues

  • Remote code execution vulnerabilities CVE-2021-44228 and CVE-2021-45046 in Apache Log4j.

In VMware Cloud Director Object Storage Extension 2.0.0.3 patch release Apache log4j has been updated to version 2.16 to resolve CVE-2021-44228 and CVE-2021-45046. For more information on these vulnerabilities and their impact on VMware products please see VMSA-2021-0028.

    This issue is now resolved.

  • Tenant users cannot download text files.

If you configure file compression on the load balancer for VMware Cloud Director Object Storage Extensions, the load balancer compresses the text files incorrectly. As a result, downloading the objects fails.

    This issue is now resolved.

  • If you store more than 10 million objects in VMware Cloud Director Object Storage Extension, the time to list the objects in buckets increases.

For example, listing the objects in a bucket with more than 12 million objects takes about 30 seconds.

When you list objects in a bucket, VMware Cloud Director Object Storage Extension queries the object_info table in the database and the table consists of as many rows, as there are objects in the bucket. In the same query statement, SQL keyword order by, the functions lower and count, and the operator like also increase the time to execute the query.

    This issue is now resolved.
