Working with Buckets

Buckets in VMware Cloud Director Object Storage Extension represent containers to which you upload files.

Depending on your role, you can perform different operations with buckets,

• As an organization user, you can create, edit, share, empty, and delete your own buckets.
• As an organization administrator, you can create, edit, share, empty, and delete all buckets within your organization.

  Users that have organization administrator privileges can manage the buckets of all organization users.

  An organization administrator operates buckets using the bucket owner privilege. For example, if you upload an object to a bucket as an organization administrator, the owner of the bucket becomes the owner of the object.
