You can create a solution instance of one of the available data solutions by using the basic or advanced settings.

Note: If you are deploying a VMware SQL with MySQL instance, in step 3d, you must enter only a default password.

If you want to use the YAML editor in the extended settings, ensure that you fill out the form first. Otherwise the changes to the YAML file are reset. If you add a new section to the new YAML file, append the content to the end of the YAML manifest.

Prerequisites

If you want to deploy a MongoDB Enterprise instance, verify that your Tenant administrator has attached the MongoDB Ops Manager. See Attach the MongoDB Ops Manager.

Procedure

  1. Log in to VMware Cloud Director extension for Data Solutions from VMware Cloud Director.
  2. Click Instances > New Instance.
  3. Enter the necessary details.
    1. Select the solution, for which you want to create an instance.
    2. Enter the instance name.
    3. Select the Kubernetes cluster for this instance.
    4. Enter a default solution user name and password.
    5. Select a solution template for this instance.
  4. To customize more details, for example, to configure the RabbitMQ Management Console, or to enable high availability for VMware SQL with Postgres or VMware SQL with MySQL, click Show Advanced Settings.
  5. Click Create.
