In VMware Cloud Director service, you can restrict the access to a VMware Cloud Director instance by configuring a list of source IP addresses and CIDR blocks with access to it.

Procedure

  1. Log in to VMware Cloud Director service.
  2. Click Cloud Director Instances.
  3. In the card of the VMware Cloud Director instance that you want to manage, click Actions > Configure Source IP Ranges..
If you already have configured IP addresses, they appear in the text box.
  4. Enter a comma-separated list of IP addresses and CIDR blocks to allow them access to the VMware Cloud Director instance.
    IPv4 and IPv6 are supported.
  5. (Optional) To delete any IP addresses that you have configured earlier, delete them from the text box.
  6. Click Save.

Results

IP addresses that you specify can access the VMware Cloud Director instance. For IP addresses and CIDR blocks that you didn't include in the list, access is denied. If you attempt to access the instance from an IP address that is not in the list, this results in a 403 Forbidden error.
