What's in the Release Notes

The release notes cover the following topics:

Introduction to the VMware vRealize Orchestrator Plug-In for vCloud Director 10.0

The VMware vRealize Orchestrator plug-in for vCloud Director 10.0 release runs on VMware vRealize Orchestrator 7.6 and 7.5. For information about installing and configuring the vRealize Orchestrator plug-in for vCloud Director 10.0, see the Using VMware vRealize Orchestrator Plug-Ins guide.

What's New in the vRealize Orchestrator Plug-In for vCloud Director 10.0

Multi-tenancy Support:
The vRealize Orchestrator Plug-in for vCloud Director 10.0 uses the session of the logged-in user to fetch only the inventory that they are entitled to access. To use the feature, implement the getHostByToken action into the workflows that involve inventory object selection. You can implement the action by using the Java-based Orchestrator Legacy Client.

OpenAPI Support:
When running the "Execute Rest Client" workflow, you can invoke the vCloud Director OpenAPI.

Cluster Support
The vRealize Orchestrator Plug-in supports the replication of configuration settings across all nodes in a high-availability cluster. When a vCloud Director plug-in configuration is added, modified, or removed on any of the nodes, the changes get reflected on all other nodes.

Performance Improvements:
1. Inventory view has an option to load only references instead of complete entities. This improves performance while loading a larger inventory.
2. You can use existing parent objects to get the list of children objects.
3. Improved performance when fetching multiple vCloud Director entities simultaneously.

After you upgrade the vCloud API schemas to the latest version and bind the new workflow action parameters, the latest vCloud Director features become available.

API version compatibility with vCloud Director

API version vCloud Director version
33.0 10.0
32.0 9.7
31.0 9.5
30.0 9.1
29.0 9.0

Note: When managing multiple vCloud Director instances running on different versions, you must create a connection to each of them separately and specify the API version that each version of vCloud Director supports.
