You can create a new organization using the VMware Cloud Director Service Provider Admin Portal.

Starting with VMware Cloud Director 10.6, organizations can have sub-provider rights and capabilities. See Overview of VMware Cloud Director Administration.

Procedure

  1. Open the list of VMware Cloud Director organizations.
    1. From the primary left navigation panel, select Resources.
    2. From the page top navigation bar, select Cloud Resources.
    3. From the secondary left panel, select Organizations.
    The list of existing organizations displays in a grid view. If your environment has sub-providers, you can use the Managed By column to see who manages the organizations in the list.
  2. Click New.
    The New Organization dialog opens.
  3. If you are using a multisite deployment, select the site in which you want to create the organization.
  4. Enter the following values.
    Option Description
    Organization name The unique identifier that forms the URL for accessing the Tenant Portal of the organization.
    Organization full name Full name of the organization.
    Description An optional description for the organization.
  5. (Optional) If you want the organization to have sub-provider rights, turn on the Enable sub-provider toggle.
  6. Click Create.
