MAC sets are groups of MAC addresses to which the distributed firewall rules apply. You can use MAC sets for access control, filtering, and security purposes within your local network. Combining multiple objects into MAC sets helps you to reduce the total number of distributed firewall rules to be created.

Procedure

  1. From the primary left navigation panel, select Networking, and from the page top navigation bar, select the Data Center Groups tab.
    The list of data center groups appears.
  2. Click the target data center group.
  3. Under Security, click MAC Sets.
  4. Click New.
  5. Enter a name and, optionally, a description for the new MAC set.
  6. Enter a MAC address and click Add.
    Add all MAC addresses you want included in the MAC set.
  7. Click Save.
