You can take a snapshot of all the virtual machines in a vApp. After you take the snapshots, you can revert all virtual machines in the vApp to the most recent snapshot, or remove all snapshots.

vApp snapshots have the following limitations.
  • They do not capture NIC configurations.
  • You cannot create them if any virtual machine in the vApp is connected to an independent disk.
Note: For each VM in the vApp, a snapshot consumes storage for the entire vmdk file. If you select Snapshot the memory of the virtual machines, additional storage is required.

  1. Select My Cloud > vApps.
  2. Right-click the vApp and select Create Snapshot.
If the VM is powered on, you can select Snapshot the memory of the virtual machines to include current VM memory in the snapshot (requires additional storage). You can also select Quiesce guest file systems to write open files disk before the snapshot is taken.
  3. Click OK to create the snapshot.
