After you upgrade the vCloud API schemas to the latest version and bind the new workflow action parameters, the latest vCloud Director features become available.

If you enable the multi-site connection, you can manage and monitor vCloud Director sites and their organizations as single entities from the vRealize Orchestrator Plug-In for vCloud Director. The listing of entities is integrated with the existing workflows and you can retrieve parent and child entities.

Resolved Issues

  • The VCloudHost.getEntityById() API query returns incorrect object for Organization VDC network

The VCloudHost.getEntityById(VclFinderType.ORG_VDC_NETWORK, networkEntityId) query returns an instance of VclAdminOrgVdcNetwork instead of VclOrgVdcNetwork and causes the returned object not to have a reference of parent, in this case, VDC.

The issue is resolved in this release.

  • You cannot browse through the inventory from the vCloud Director Tenant Portal, while executing a workflow from the service library

Special characters in the ID published by the plug-in cause the URL decoding to fail in vCloud Director.

The issue is resolved in this release.

  • Trying to use the Metadata.updateTypedEntry() call fails

Metadata.updateTypedEntry() issue with API is causing the workflow script to fail. setMetadataStringEntry action fails also, because it calls the same API.

The issue is resolved in this release.

Known Issues

  • Running the Upload Media workflow fails

Starting with API version 32, uploading media files directly to a virtual data center (VDC) is not supported. Running the Upload Media workflow fails with a METHOD_NOT_ALLOWED error.

    Workaround: None.

  • Running the Upload a vApp Template workflow fails

Starting with API version 32, uploading a vApp Template directly to а virtual data center (VDC) is not supported. The Upload a vApp Template workflow fails with a METHOD_NOT_ALLOWED error.

Workaround: To upload a vApp, run the Upload a vApp Template to Catalog workflow.

  • The Add a vApp with a new virtual machine workflow fails

Starting with API version 32, the Add a vApp with a new virtual machine workflow is not supported. When you attempt to run the workflow, it fails with a METHOD_NOT_ALLOWED error.

    Workaround: None.

  • Existing workflow actions fail after upgrading the vRealize Orchestrator plugin-in to version 9.7

Existing workflow actions fail after upgrading the vRealize Orchestrator plugin-in to version 9.7, because of the integration with the latest API schema.
