Add and configure a tier-1 gateway to re-distribute routes to the tier-0 gateway and provide routing between tenant workloads. This is required only when you enable a centralized service, like LB or NAT. Tier-1 gateways have downlink ports to connect to NSX-T segments and uplink ports to connect to NSX-T tier-0 gateways.
Procedure
- In a browser window, log in with admin privileges to the NSX-T Manager at https://nsx-manager-ip-address.
- On the main navigation bar, click Advanced Networking & Security.
- Select and click Add Tier-1 Router.
- Type the following values and click Save.

- Next to Edges, click Set.
- Click Add Edge.
- Click sfo01wesg01 and sfo01wesg02 edge nodes and click Apply.
- Select the newly created tier-1 router (sfo01-w02-tier-1-01).
- Verify the connection between tier-1 and tier-0 gateways.
- Click Routers and then select the sfo01-w02-tier-1-01 router.
- Click and verify that the LinkedPort has the following settings.
