If your environment includes the Intelligent Operations Management for VMware Cloud Foundation validated solution, you can expand monitoring and alerting coverage of the on-premises VMware Aria Operations to include the Cloud-Based Ransomware Recovery for VMware Cloud Foundation validated solution.

Verify that the on-premises VMware Aria Operations is deployed and operational in a local environment in VMware Cloud Foundation mode using the corresponding on-premises VMware Aria Suite Lifecycle instance.

Configure a Ping Adapter for the Connector Appliances in the on-premises VMware Aria Operations for Cloud-Based Ransomware Recovery for VMware Cloud Foundation

To verify the availability of the VMware Live Cyber Recovery Connector appliances that exist in your environment, configure the Ping adapter integration in the on-premises VMware Aria Operations. The ping functionality is configured at the adapter instance for IP addresses, group of IP addresses, and FQDNs.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the VMware Aria Operations interface at https://<aria_operations_fqdn> with a user assigned the Administrator role.
  2. In the left pane, navigate to Administration > Integration.
  3. On the Accounts tab, click Add account.

  4. On the Account types page, click the Ping card.

  5. On the Add account - ping page, configure the settings according to your values in the VMware Cloud Foundation Planning and Preparation Workbook.

  6. On the Add account - ping page, click Validate connection.

  7. In the Info dialog box, click OK.

  8. Click Add.

  9. On the Accounts tab, expand the Ping account and verify that the collection status of the Ping adapter is OK.
