Configure the FTP Server Settings for the HCX Connector for Cross Cloud Mobility for VMware Cloud Foundation
You configure the HCX Connector appliance with a target FTP server using the SFTP protocol.
Procedure
- Log in to the HCX Connector at https://<hcx_connector_fqdn>:9443 with a user assigned the Admin role.
Select the Administration tab.
In the left pane, select
.Select the FTP server setting tab and click Add.
Under FTP server setting, configure the settings according to your values in the VMware Cloud Foundation Planning and Preparation Workbook and click Save.
Configure a Backup Schedule for the HCX Connector for Cross Cloud Mobility for VMware Cloud Foundation
After you configure a target FTP server, you configure the schedule for taking backups.
Procedure
- Log in to the HCX Connector at https://<hcx_connector_fqdn>:9443 with a user assigned the Admin role.
Select the Administration tab.
In the left pane, select
.Select the Scheduling tab and click Add.
Under Backup scheduling, configure the settings according to your values in the VMware Cloud Foundation Planning and Preparation Workbook and click Save.
Verify Backup Operations for the HCX Connector for Cross Cloud Mobility for VMware Cloud Foundation
Verify that the HCX Connector can perform a successful backup using the target FTP server.
Procedure
- Log in to the HCX Connector at https://<hcx_connector_fqdn>:9443 with a user assigned the Admin role.

Under Backup and restore operations, select the Upload to server check box and click Generate.
